Beautiful piece by Brian House. A tangible, auditive and interpretive take on data sets, which reminded me a bit of the annual reports by Nicholas Feltron.
One of the most intriguing (and one of my favorite) aspects of House’s piece is the vinyl record itself, with its implicit artifact-like qualities used to embody location data. The juxtaposition feels “dissonant” when thinking of the longevity of the object against the ephemeralness of data, but its physical and musical interpretation also humanizes the machine-like perception we often have of data. Really enjoyed all of this as well as the design of the record and its sleeve.
