This sculpture, and the photographs of it, are a study of form, color and light. They are based on an idea that I first described in the line of a poem:
“…destellos de luz azul y blanca…”
Roughly translated this means “gleams of white and blue light.” In the poem, I was describing the sensory experience of growing closer with someone, of intimacy. I set out to play with form, color and light to recreate and reinterpret that experience in physical space. The sculpture is best viewed in an open space with the lights turned off, walking around it, letting your shifting perspective create movement and changes in color, laying down beneath it, or even getting in between the light cubes.
